Andy & Jen’s Couple Session in Downtown Greenville, SC

May 18th, 2012

Andy & Jen are one of my favorite couples in the world.  I was so honored when they hired me to fly all the way to South Carolina to do their family portraits and this couples session!  I mentioned that Jen & Andy chose Falls Park in Downtown Greenville, SC for their location in their Sneak Peek.  This was such a beautiful park & Downtown Greenville was so cute!

We had such a fun afternoon.  Jen & Andy, I hope you love your Couples Portraits!

I was so honored that Jen & Andy hired me to fly out to South Carolina for their family portraits!  I mentioned in their Sneak Peek that they chose the South Carolina Botanical Gardens at Clemson University as their setting.  These gardens were so gorgeous!

I hope you love your family portraits!  I had such a great time with your family!

Couples Session Sneak Peek!

May 14th, 2012

I had the privilege of flying out to South Carolina to take portraits of one of my favorite couples in the world last month, Jen & Andy Bruss.  You may recognize Jen from the family session sneak peek I posted last week and also from my 52-Week Photo Project Blog Circle.  Jen & Andy chose downtown Greenville & Falls Park for their portrait location.  This park was gorgeous & busy!

We were able to sneak off the beaten path to grab this shot before a dozen or so people found us.  I hope you like your sneak peek Jen & Andy!  I can’t wait to show you more!!!

52 Week Photo Project ~ Week 20 ~ Kitchen

May 13th, 2012

This week’s theme is “Kitchen” in the 52-Week Photo Challenge Blog Circle for 2012.  Each week I will be joining 15 fabulous photographers from around the world by posting an image for that week’s theme to the blog and then posting a link at the end of the blog post to check out the next photographer in the circle.  A few of the themes we have already had are Soft, Stripes, and Monochromatic.

This isn’t quite a picture of my kitchen…but these were made in my kitchen! :-) You may have seen a sneak peek of this image on my Monday Morning Randomness post last week.  We made these rainbow cupcakes for my daughter’s birthday.  I’m not much of a baker, but this was such an easy recipe and they tasted great!

I hope all the moms out there have a wonderful Mother’s Day!!!

Family Portrait Sneak Peek!

May 9th, 2012

Jen‘s family already had one surprise sneak peek, but I couldn’t resist posting just one more official sneak peek for them!  I had so much fun photographing this family and the location they chose, the South Carolina Botanical Garden at Clemson University, reminded me of a magical fairy land!

I hope you like your official sneak peek!  More to come soon!

Monday Morning Randomness…

May 7th, 2012
  • ~The past few weeks have been insane around here.  I cannot tell you how much I am looking forward to the Summer Break!
  • ~A few weeks ago we celebrated my daughter’s birthday.  She loves to bake and really wanted to make rainbow cupcakes for her birthday party.  We used this Taste a Rainbow cupcake recipe and they turned out awesome.  The colors were so vibrant and it was really easy to do, just very time consuming.  We also tried not to think about how much food coloring went into this particular recipe. lol  :-)   If you make them, just know you don’t get the usual amount of cupcakes per batch, I would say you get closer to 2/3 the amount of normal cupcakes.
  • ~We also celebrated my daughter’s birthday with her friends with a cupcake decorating party at For Heaven’s Cakes.  It was so incredibly cute!  All the girls did a fabulous job on their cupcakes, I was seriously impressed.  They even made self-portrait cupcakes, which were really cute.  They all had a lot of fun.
  • ~This weekend my husband and I got to have a date night and saw The Avengers.  This movie is awesome, I highly recommend it.  There are two additional scenes at the very end of the movie.  One is at the very beginning of the credits and one is at the very end of the credits.  The Hulk was my favorite.  Did anyone else see it this weekend?
  • ~Last week I was hired to do family portraits for my friend, Jen in South Carolina.  I plan on writing a post about my trip soon and will share the pictures within the next week.  It is so beautiful there!  Jen lent me her copy of The Hunger Games for the plane ride home.  I read about half of it on the plane and hope to see the movie before it leaves the theaters.  I’m a little behind with this one. :-)  I can see what all the hype was about, it was a really good book!

Have a great week everyone!

52 Week Photo Project ~ Week 19 ~ Laughter

May 6th, 2012

This week’s theme is “Laughter” in 52-Week Photo Challenge Blog Circle for 2012.  Each week I will be joining 15 fabulous photographers from around the world by posting an image for that week’s theme to the blog and then posting a link at the end of the blog post to check out the next photographer in the circle.  A few of the themes we have already had are Silly, United, and Horizon.

The last week has been insanely stressful for me.  Some of the stresses have been happy, fun stresses and some of the stresses have been disturbing, definitley-not-fun stresses.  So, I’m very happy that this was a fun theme this week.  Here is a shot from my recent session with one of my favorite families…

Some of you may recognize the mom in this picture as my very talented friend and fellow 52-Week Blog Circle Participant, Jen of Jennifer Bruss Photography!  She has no idea I’m posting this today, so  Surprise Jen!!! :-)  I can’t wait to post more images from her session soon!

52 Week Photo Project ~ Week 18 ~ Soft

April 29th, 2012

This week’s theme is “Soft” in 52-Week Photo Challenge Blog Circle for 2012.  Each week I will be joining 15 fabulous photographers from around the world by posting an image for that week’s theme to the blog and then posting a link at the end of the blog post to check out the next photographer in the circle.  A few of the themes we have already had are EarthyDiscovery and Stripes.

I took this image for my daughter’s birthday portraits and I’m pretty sure this one was my favorite of the bunch! I loved the soft focus and the soft colors.  I also loved the pose and natural expression on her face.
